How They Became A Dragon

They failed to see the sunrise,

Bumble bees annoyed them.

To laugh at a small mistake was to electrocute the sensible part of them.

You wouldn’t know where to look if they started to morph,

Because they weren’t always a dragon.

Nobody ever started as a dragon.

We learn then unlearn, hoping to learn again,

A backpack full of memories, we cannot understand.

We mind our mind in these mindfulness times. But the blind won’t find the mind to remind the time when they tried to hide and became wired to crying not sighing and letting go, make a space to define what they’re trying to see to be the person that always wanted to, thought they could and at some point knew they could be.

Nobody started as a dragon.

Trees grow, flowers bloom, seasons pass,

They finally look up and realise they can’t look out, only down.

Its hurts to face up, so face down they go.

Their palms show all of the paths they could’ve taken

Nobody ever did anything intentionally to hurt them.

Any they got in their own way.

Andthat’s how they became a dragon.
